Lake County Baptist Ministries

Lake County Baptist Church began as a Bible study in the summer of 1974. The three founding families wished to begin a solid, biblically-based and separated fundamental work here in Waukegan. After founding the church, they established Lake County Baptist School in August of 1974 and purchased the former Bonnie Brook School building. Our church was grounded in the early and formative years by Dr. Bill Schroeder and church-planter Grant Rice, whom we still support today. Our church has grown since then and now averages about 150 people on Sunday mornings. We support at least 18 missionary families in foreign countries and five families here in the midwest United States. In the fall of 2000, we began our own missionary Spanish church which meets in our church building. We also have close ties to a Haitian church and a Filipino church in our area.
